Caroline, Ever-bearing Raspberry *Organically Grown*
Considered by some to be one of the best tasting red raspberry varieties available, Caroline is a very reliable and productive selection. The fruit ripen in late spring/early summer and again in early fall to frost. The berries are large, firm and juicy, with outstanding favor and are able to be stored in the fridge for up to a week. They are perfect for fresh eating, freezing, canning, or made into all kinds of delightful preserves. Caroline plants are resistant to root rot and gray mold. The canes can tend to grow quite long - up to 9' - and benefit from support and/or even some quick trimming before the top flowers set in early summer. While this variety is not considered thornless, the thorns are soft and not super prickly. Cold hardy to USDA zone 4.
Self-fertile - no other variety is required for fruit production.
